A recreation of selected Pou minigames designed for the Nintendo Wii.
This project is an experimental prototype focused on porting core mobile gameplay loops to native Wii hardware, utilizing the Wii Remote's unique input capabilities for a reimagined arcade experience.
Features
- Native Control Mapping: Seamless translation of touch-based mobile mechanics to the Wii Remote’s IR sensor and button layout.
- Optimized Gameplay: Designed to maintain the pacing and difficulty of the originals while adapting to physical console controls.
- Wii Remote Integration:
- Sky Jump & Free Fall: Utilizes the Wii Remote IR Sensor for precise, 1:1 positional control.
- Water Hop: Features a dedicated two-button jump mechanic using Buttons 1 and 2 for varied jump lengths.
- Jet Pou: Implements responsive flight mechanics mapped to Button A.
Project Status (Demo/Prototype)
Please note that this is an early development version. Currently:
- ✅ Core Loops: The main gameplay mechanics for all four minigames are fully functional.
- ✅ Input Handling: Native Wii Remote IR and button integration is stable.
- ❌ Polishing: Physics values and IR sensitivity are still being fine-tuned.
- ❌ Audio: Sound effects and music are not yet implemented.
Controls
- Sky Jump & Free Fall: Point the Wii Remote at the screen to move horizontally.
- Water Hop: Press 1 for short hops / 2 for long jumps.
- Jet Pou: Press A to flap/ascend.

Install instructions
Download: Click the download button on this page to get the .zip file.
Extract: Extract the contents of the zip file directly to the root of your SD card.
- Since the zip is already pre-configured with the correct directory structure, this will automatically place the pou folder (which includes the
boot.dol,meta.xml, anddata/folder) into theapps/directory (SD:/apps/pou/).
Launch: Insert the SD card into your Wii, open the Homebrew Channel, and select "Pou" from the list to start the game.
